Welcome to Rumford Animal Hospital
We provide high-quality care for dogs and cats by appointment only. We also offer emergency care for our patients during our open hours. At this time, we are still recovering from the severe flood in December and are open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM to pick up medications, food, and to see your pet by appointment.
Our Services
We offer emergency care for our patients during our open hours. If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please call us immediately. After hours, you can reach a Dr in Lewiston at 207-777-1110 or Portland at 207-878-3121
We offer comprehensive wellness exams for your pets to ensure they are healthy and happy. Our experienced veterinarians will check your pet from head to tail, looking for any signs of illness or disease. Regular wellness exams are essential for maintaining your pet's health and catching any potential health problems early on.
We recommend senior health panels which include blood work to evaluate your pets blood sugar, kidney, liver and thyroid function along with a stool sample , all of which are sent to IDEXX, one of the leading veterinary laboratories.
Microchipping is a safe and simple way to ensure that your pet can be identified if they get lost. Our veterinarians can insert a tiny microchip under your pet's skin, which contains all of their identifying information. This information can be read by a scanner, which is available at most animal shelters and veterinary clinics.
We offer a range of surgical services to help keep your pets healthy. Our experienced veterinarians are trained in a variety of surgical procedures and dental cleanings and can provide referrals to specialty hospitals as needed
Vaccinations are an essential part of keeping your pets healthy. We offer a range of vaccinations to protect against common diseases, including rabies, kennel cough(bordetella) distemper, parvovirus, and lyme disease for our canine friends and leukemia for our kittys. Our veterinarians will work with you to develop a vaccination schedule that is tailored to your pet's individual needs.
We recommend annual heartworm and tick disease testing for the dogs and leukemia/FIV testing for stray cats and kittens.
Dental care is an essential part of keeping your pets healthy. We offer routine dental care including cleanings, with referrals for extractions, and oral surgery. Our veterinarians will work with you to develop a dental care plan that is tailored to your pet's individual needs.
